From what I understand, those of us that got screwed in 2014 with the BA are eligible for the age waiver until 35. Anyone know any different?

Last bit from 49 U.S. Code 44506:
(B) Reconsideration of applicants disqualified on basis of biographical assessments.—
(i)In general.—
If an individual described in paragraph (1)(A) or paragraph (1)(B)(ii), who applied for the position of air traffic controller with the Administration in response to Vacancy Announcement FAA–AMC–14–ALLSRCE–33537 (issued on February 10, 2014), was disqualified from the position as the result of a biographical assessment, the Administrator shall provide the applicant an opportunity to reapply for the position as soon as practicable under the revised hiring practices.
(ii)Waiver of age restriction.—The Administrator shall waive any maximum age restriction for the position of air traffic controller with the Administration that would otherwise disqualify an individual from the position if the individual—
(I) is reapplying for the position pursuant to clause (i) on or before December 31, 2017; and
(II) met the maximum age requirement on the date of the individual’s previous application for the position during the interim hiring process.
(3)Maximum entry age for experienced controllers.—
Notwithstanding section 3307 of title 5, the maximum limit of age for an original appointment to a position as an air traffic controller shall be 35 years of age for those maintaining 52 weeks of air traffic control experience involving the full-time active separation of air traffic after receipt of an air traffic certification or air traffic control facility rating in a civilian or military air traffic control facility.
Failed BA - max age was 35 before Dec 31, 2017 and after this law was updated. The current age waiver applies only to previously exp. Controllers w/ 52 weeks post certification or its been less than 5 years since their last facility rating.
Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I was hired in 2016. You guys are saying attach letters of recommendation and I disagree. AFAIK it doesnt say anything about attaching them in the application and I dont think it has any weight on whether you get selected or not.

I got hired using a resume I made and tailored to the 2016 bid. Uploaded it as a PDF, went to AVIATOR, and then they wanted it to be a bit more specific, so what did I do? Deleted the one I uploaded and submitted a brand spankin' new one tailored exactly the way they wanted it.
Just do it, man. Just give them exactly what they want. Even if it takes just an hour or two more out of your time, just fuckin' do it. That's really interesting how the USAJobs template doesn't allow you to enter the day, month, and year of your start/end dates in your employment history.

I've never heard of someone getting DQ'd for that, but in the text box where you can enter your duties and responsibilities for each job, just include the month/day/year to cover yourself.
Seeing as how it's restricted to people 30 and younger, I'm going to say you won't be making it.
But, if you do, you've won the lottery.
Did it actually say successful when you submitted? Mine was rejected and I'm figuring it's because I'm 32 (my last like 5 times applying have been fine).

Yes it was successful. I am a 10pt disabled veteran with aviation background so I dont know if that helped

Just curious, did anyone receive a confirmation email or anything after submitting their application? I thought I remember getting one last year, but didn’t get one on Friday when I applied...
Also, does anyone know the process for opting out of re-taking the ATSA and using your old score? Do they send an email request, or do you need to call Aviation Careers?

If you didn't get hired off your old score last time why do you think you will get hired this time? Clearly you didn't score well. Take the test again.
