Hello all. Will be transitioning from military to civilian controller in the next year. My goal is to be hired somewhere overseas. (Stan, Dubai Etc.) Looking for any information for people who cant currently apply due to Active Duty status but are looking to get some information and confirmation. Anything I can do in the meantime to increase my chances?

I'm currently working in Afghanistan.. Midwest owns the contracts at Kandahar and Bagram (for now) and IAP has Kabul center, Approach, and Tower as well as Mazar and Herat. Just apply on the company websites, they're usually pretty quick responding. Midwest is a bit of a shit show right now, and word on the street is they wont have the contracts much longer. Dubai only hires controllers with previous ICAO certifications..

I think Kandahar is under Dyncorp Intl. look up their profile on linkedin for the link to apply. My buddy is there and says it’s easy money for the little traffic you work.

Midwest has the Kandahar Contract. You are 2 to a room, Food is decent. The pay isn't great, but isn't terrible. Take a look at the ICAO doc 4444. They operate under ICAO rules there and it takes some getting used to. Traffic wise it has slowed down, we think due to weather, but has started to pick up the last week or so.
