In a van down by the river.
How long does it take to fill out? And if u get an interview do they cover any expenses to get u to it?
If you already have a resume, you can copy/paste. This way doesn't take long. You're on your own with expenses. Travel/lodging is all out of pocket. The thing with NS is that sometimes you get a quick response, sometimes not or even sometimes never.

Looks like NS is hiring for this again. Their website has 3 spots in Harrisburg, PA, 1 in Fort Wayne, IN, and 1 in Greenville, SC.

I'm gonna put in for Fort Wayne and Greenville for sh*ts and giggles, see what happens. I applied for a TD job with CSX, but they said I didn't meet their qualifications or some junk.

I'm "pending manager interview" for the CSX TD job in Chicago. Hopefully that pans out.

Weird that you didn't meet their quals, all they ask for is ATC experience. Did they make you take the assessment tests before you could submit your app? I was sure I'd blown the greater than/equal to/less than portion but I guess I did well enough.

thats awesome guys, also know that BNSF is gonna be hiring lots here shortly too for those who have gotten tired of the FAA antics... Take a look, keep everyone posted, and let us all know what the process is for each different company, I got picked up by bnsf (already starting work, already finished class) let us all know about CSX, NS, UP, etc...

I thought my degree would have been enough to get me in, but maybe they wanted people who've actually been an air traffic controller? I was excited too, a friend of mine at work got a job with CSX doing investigations and whatnot (he was a part time cop) and he was telling me how good of a company they were to work for, as far as benefits, retirement, etc.

I might have bombed that assesment though, cause those questions were kicking my ass! hahaha That, and I started it around 11:30 on a work night, and didn't realize that it was going to take that long, so I probably hurried through it a little.

I was dreading applying to NS last night, because of the same situation, but it wasn't too bad. Hopefully it pans out...I have a bad feeling about this ATC stuff...

well no matter how it goes dont give up, railroads are better to work for because of benfits and such than the FAA is seeming to be. I've read over both and the pay may be better in the long run with FAA, but you earn more, faster with the RR and benefits are far better, take a look at them, pull them up off the websites and compare... you'll see...

@battani22, i got put in the northwest division, i get to work with people that are REALLY high in seniority and the chiefs are really cool too, they look out for you in my division. Not sure where i'll go first, but they're thinking centralia east or west... pretty busy but they both look good to me, im' better at dispatching than looking at print all day long. Are you at BNSF or how do you know about the divisions and stuff?

No, i'm not at BNSF. We're a contacted company with BNSF that serves as an administrator for transportation...I'm the north regional manager for our company, so I deal with the Northwest, Montana, Twin Cities Divisions. When you guys have issues with transportation, you will contact central VANS for assistance. You will become familiar with our company! The NW Div are a great group of guys with Scott U, Jared Y, Robert J. Out of the 13 Divisions, NW ranks 5th for traffic levels so it can get pretty busy at times!

I'm hoping eventually I can end up at BNSF if ATC doesn't work. I have worked with BNSF for over 5 years and have learned a lot about the railroad and love it.

DO that shit man, it would be good to work with you, you seem like a cool person and nothing is better than having a good job with cool people, there are people in the SW division that are complete ass hats... but oh well, ya jared and the other chiefs seem really cool, like they are there to help you, not chew your ass for miniscule BS, but thats always a good thing. Let me know what you plan to do, and someday i'll hit you up on the landline possibly when i start work and whatnot... take care bro...
