here's a sample of radar atc from Ft. Worth Center for those who have yet to see actual air traffic...remember the big sky theory? enjoy!

9/16/2011 - towards the end of thunderstorm season...the video does not depict NEXRAD so you don't see the actual weather rolling in thru ZFW, although the yellow spots are lightning strikes so you can have an idea of the general direction of the weather. also, it only shows arrivals into DFW, it doesn't show arrivals into other airports in ZFW, departures, overflights, etc.
it's a rewarding job after all is said and done...

this one is during Superbowl 2010 when they played at the new Cowboys Stadium...

Somebodies gotta do it. Ill be one of them. ZMA bound although I dont think the superbowl will be back here in Miami anytime soon since they wont put a dome or cover on SunLife Stadium.

The weather vid I'm guessing is probably around 4-6 hours..

ZFW is set up mainly to work for DFW..there's areas that work each "corner post" for arrivals, then areas that work a "cross" for the departures. Then we have the other sectors that work the rest (overflights, surrounding airports, etc)

The weather vid didn't show departures, but the superbowl vid did...and we work a few planes on the mid too since we butt in with ZME & they have all the Fedex flights :)
