Hello All,

Was wondering if anyone here worked or is at least familiar with how things are at SLC. To include staffing, working enviroment, check out time. Currently at a level 9 looking for a possible move to the area. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sad thing is most higher facilities are flooded with street hires etc. I submitted an err to SAT in 2008 and the response I get from the atm is that he wouldn't know where to put me if he had me. Career progression is harder now then before the masive hiring boom. Oh well, will have to keep plugging away.

Reference SAT, I would put in for it again if you are still interested. Our Trainees outnumber FPl's. Yes we have quite a few off the street hires and quite a few Cti's.

Hi, I am currently a CTI student at Embry-Riddle and I am graduating this summer. I am originally from Salt Lake and I am going to be putting Utah on my application. I would really love to come and check out the facility next time I am in Salt Lake. If anybody has any guidance on how I should go about that I would very much appreciate it.

You know where.
Go to the top of the site. Under "ATC Facilities," navigate to Utah and then Salt Lake City ATCT. Call the number and schedule a tour.

checkout time close to a year. would be easier to get the tracon if you really want to move there.

I'm headed to the TRACON so to piggy back on my friends post does anyone know how long it takes to check out there on average? Also was wondering how many positions the TRACON has. I'm planning a visit down there the end of next month, if i ask would they give me any maps or materials to gain some early familiarity? Thanks!

My TOL back in march has me SLC Terminal also, I'm getting scooped up VRA hire, have you received a class start date yet?

Me 2, except I got hired off cto bid. And I don't have a class date. I'm pretty sure I know which one I'm going to via networking before I applied.

And solar flare how many class dates does ur tol say u have? Might be an indication where ur going... Just a thought. Don't know if it would be correct tho.

My Temporary Offer Letter asked if I'd accept Salt Lake City Terminal if considered, there was not a list of class dates, but if I in fact get picked up this fall, it will be for salt lake, we may have different paper work, CTO/VRA.

Very true! Well hopefully we will see each other around. Either way well be in the same building.
