Job Title: Air Traffic Control Specialist - Trainee
Series & Grade: FG-2152-1
Announcement #: FAA-ATO-17-ALLSRCE-53474

My status on the aviator site still says “A referral list for Pool 2 was issued. Your application is among those being reviewed. Please continue to check back for status updates.”

That was back in December. I took the ATSAT back in October. Should I be worried that I won’t be selected or should I remain patient?

Tol's are done, and the selection process is over, barring some unforeseen event that a ridiculous amount TOL holders fail their clearances it's safe to say "better luck next time."

I wouldn’t put much thought into the statuses on usajobs, at least in regards to the FAA hiring process. I was hired on a prior exp bid and have been at my facility for almost 9 months and mine still says referred.

I took my AT-SAT November 2016, got that "referral" status in December just like you.

My TOL eventually came February 14th and the FOL came months later in June after getting cleared with Medical and Security.

Expect it to be a bit of a wait but it's a good sign that you've been referred.

I'm happy to answer any of your questions about the entire process!

I appreciate it. You think calling HR during the week would be a good idea? I emailed them last week but no reply. I sure hope I’m not looking at “better luck next year” kinda deal.

If you have a contact in HR then it never hurts to politely ask, it certainly helped speed up medical clearance. Keep in mind TOLs come out in waves so keep an eye on other people's reports.[/QUOTE]

All I have is a HR phone number from the email they sent. When we had to set up our ATSAT testing times and locations.

Probably Aviation Careers huh? That might work, just don't expect any specific answer but if you can at least learn if they're still being sent out that'd probably be of help.

I’ll give them a call on Monday, I’ll keep you posted. Thanks again for the help

There is already an entire thread on this. HR has reported that TOL's are done being sent out. Now "technically" if you have a referred status that means you could still be sent a tol, but the only way to get one now is if a overwhelmingly large amount of current TOL holders fail their security check or medical check. Your status will stay "referred" all the way up to 3 weeks before the next bid opens, at which point if you still have not received a tol for this bid you referred status will change to either "not hired" or "rejected" both meaning the same thing.

At this point it's safe to say you will have to apply again. Welcome to the club, we have jackets. -__-
Feel free to call HR still if you want, just know that, as I have said before, the already is a thread of over 180 pages for this with many many people reporting they already called HR. There is even a complete break down of numbers of those who did and didn't receive tol's

By the way, the next hiring is rumored to be in april however there has been no word as to whether it will be a previous exp. bid or an open bid.

I am also stuck on referred and have heard that the selections can be made until the next open bid comes out. Would any of you recommend retaking the test or keeping the test score (not sure what that was because it was pass/fail) for the next open bid round and wait to see if I get a TOL? I was told that the test scores are good for three years. I am not sure if I want to retake it or do one more round without retaking it and see what happens? If I don't pass the next round, I plan on taking the test for sure then. Thank you so much in advance!

You're right in the fact that it is a pass/fail test but it’s a little more than just that, you do receive a score but you’re never told what your official score is. If you’re a regular joe meaning no military or CTI grad you pretty much need to score above an 80 to even be considered. Pool 2 is usually much larger than pool 1 so the chances of being selected are smaller. If you weren’t selected this time my suggestion would be to take the ATSA again if you get the option to. Obviously your test score wasn’t high enough for you to be selected so retaking the test can only help.

good luck!

Thank you so much for the info. Just curious, are you in the same position, or have you been given a TOL? Is this your first time around doing this or have you applied before?

First time I’ve applied and it was for the 7/7 bid, current TOL holder just waiting on my medical to clear at this point. If you do apply for future bids good luck!
