I wonder how many people love this job compared to hating it? I have not seen a single person call this a dream job unlike the FAA. It is a job though, that's all that matters. Seems more for the single peeps.

As long as you are in one of the military classes then yes, you will get paid $244 from the first day of training. Of course you will have to wait a few weeks to start getting paid because we get paid on the 10th and 25th of each month. If you work Mar 1-15 then you get paid on Mar 25th for those days so it is like waiting 3 weeks before you get your first paycheck. It depends on how many applicants they have invited and how much you impress them at the interview. Make sure you dress to impress (business attire) because you want to make a great first impression. Most of the guys were wearing suits or slacks and sport coats (no jeans!) They offered me to come back to the school the next day. The school started about a month later so I had a lot to do because I lived in San Diego at the time but was ready for the move. There was about 15-20 people at my testing and interview and we ended up with 13 in my class. Pretty good odds. I'm not sure about anybody else but I'm very happy to have this job that pays the way it does ($84,000 this last year) especially with the economy. I now make more than I did after 20 years in the Navy and only work 8 hours a day (40 hours in the week). I don't think that is bad at all.

training pay should be around $255 a day now. class is about 16 weeks long. the first 8 weeks or so is bookwork and sims. after the final exam, 1 week is spent at the NOC for observation, 2 weeks for a road trip (go out to on train rides and with maintenance to see how things in the field are done), and once you get back from that it's a few weeks of review and sims.

I was there also!! Wow that was fun......LOL

I have not heard anything, and for the record the pay is going down starting in this class. It will be $150 a day. Which is still not horrible but a big change. I have a buddy that is in the class now and he is getting the $250 or whatever. Kinda sucks for those going into this one, but hey I would still take it in a second.

They said there will be 5 classes throughout the year so if they hire 16+ that would be around 80 hires... there were 60 people who interviewed. I wonder if there are going to be any more hiring events this year or if that was it?
